NM’s New Energy Economy

New Mexico’s economy has always been powered by energy, thanks to its abundant natural and renewable energy resources.  But, how does our state make the most of its energy potential moving forward? That was the question posed at New Mexico First’s recent statewide town hall.  This week on NEW MEXICO IN FOCUS, a closer look at some of the recommendations to come out of the event.

Plus, the latest round of state revenue forecasts are out, and the numbers are not good.  THE LINE panelists weigh in on the projections, and the possibility of a special session to deal with the budget impacts.  And,some good news regarding New Mexico’s kids, and race becomes an issue once again for President Obama.  All the debate and discussion you can handle, on a show that is in-formed, in-volved and in-depth.

    Who is that moron who wants to mine freeking more uranium in MY state? People like him should be drawn and quartered! Jesus Christ ! He obviously doesnt know how tragic the environment over by Grants is now since that crap went on in the seventies! Where do ou get these people? This guy isnt doing any of us any good wanting uranium mining again ! He borders on being a terrorist in my opinion. Dont have him b ack on or dont count on anymore donations from me for knme! Thats a promise!

    I understand that nearly every university in the United States has an architecture program. However, most of them do not require their students to enroll in sustainable living and design courses. How can we get the School of Architecture and Planning at the University of New Mexico to put more emphasis on green design?

    In David’s opening remarks, he seemed to be saying that New Mexico is “third largest in wind generation”. That is not the case. New Mexico’s wind energy potential is generally ranked at 12th. The recent DOE report, “2008 WIND TECHNOLOGIES MARKET REPORT”, states that New Mexico’s cumulative capacity at the end of 2008 earned us the 14th ranking.
