Happy New Year, New Mexico!

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season, and are ready for an exciting and interesting 2009. Things started off with a major political bombshell, news that Governor Richardson would be withdrawing his name as a nominee for the Secretary of Commerce. Richardson’s administration is at the center of a federal grand jury investigation into alleged “pay-to-play” practices involving state contracts. We will have much more on this developing story, and its implications for state government on this week’s episode, which airs Friday night at 7pm.

But, we also want to make sure you got a chance to see our last two episodes of 2008. These are always some of our favorite episodes of the year, because we get to look back at the year that was. And, 2008 will definitely be a year that none of us will soon forget. Our first yearender show of the year aired on December 26th, and included our 6th through 10th biggest stories of the year that was.

Also in that episode, host David Alire Garcia gave us a special look inside an unusual beauty pageant which took place in November up in Santa Fe. Here are some outtakes and extra footage from that event.

And, in our last episode of the year, you can see how we ranked the top five stories of 2008.
