Web Extra: On the Clock

Friday, February 26th, 2010

There just wasn’t enough time this week to get everything into the show, so we’re putting the On the Clock segment for you here on our website.  Listen as the panelists sound off on the Health Care Summit, a decision to forbid VA doctors from prescribing medical marijuana for PTSD, and a local doctor’s controversial decision to offer late term abortions.

African American Business in New Mexico

Friday, February 26th, 2010

This month is Black History Month, and so we set out this week to take a look at the history of African-American owned business here in the Land of Enchantment.  We had a great conversation with our guests Rita and Joe Powdrell, along with Brenda Dabney, and Ron Hinson of the African American Chamber of Commerce of New Mexico.  If you missed any of that discussion just head to our homepage and click on the player to watch Episode 332.  New Mexico’s rich diversity is one of the things that makes it such a special place to live, and call home.  We hope we helped to enlighten you all this week on the important contributions made by African American businessmen and women.  If you’d like more information on the topic, let us suggest you head over to the chamber’s website, or the state Office of African American Affairs.  They’ve also got a great brochure you can read online that tells you all about the office and the services they offer.  It’s well worth the read!
