APS Election

The Albuquerque schools bond-mill levy measure goes before voters on Tuesday.  If approved by voters, it would generate about $600 million for primarily brick and mortar projects in the district.  These brick and mortar projects aren’t new buildings, they are renovations and maintenance for many of the district’s older buildings.  It will also help pay for a new athletic stadium on the west side, as well as technology upgrades.  This is also the first ever APS school election that includes money specifically for charter schools. Here’s a video with more information, but keep in mind this is an advocacy piece in support of the measure.

 

The actual election is next Tuesday, February 2, but early voting is still an option for citizens through Saturday, January 30th.  Here are the details:

Early voting locations (hours 8am-5pm)

o   APS Building, 6400 Uptown Blvd. NE

 

o   Alamosa Community Center, 6900 Gonzales Road SW

 

o   Don Newton Multi-Generational Center (Taylor Ranch Comm. Ctr), 4900 Kachina St. NW
