ABQ Mayoral Race Series (Richard Romero)
Will Albuquerque Mayor Marty Chavez announce his bid for re-election this weekend? That’s the speculation, based upon the recent post in his political website. Democrat Richard Romero, however, has not kept his candidacy a secret, and he sits down with NEW MEXICO IN FOCUS co-host David Alire Garcia to talk about his campaign.
Afterwards, former Albuquerque City Councilor Hess Yntema and Albuquerque Journal reporter Dan McKay give their take on the mayoral race.
Then it’s co-host Gene Grant and The Line panelists on the cult of personality in the wake of Michael Jackson’s death, Steve Pearce’s campaign to reclaim his congressional seat, Governor Richardson’s recent education award, and Cuba as New Mexico’s fastest-growing city.
