We all have to acknowledge the hypocrisy once and a while.

For me, it’s at odd hours of the night while watching the “boob tube.” That’s right, I still have a tube in my TV!

With so much, dare I say it…crap…swirling around us: the crashing market, two wars that everyone has been talking about winning, ending, finishing….dragging-out…for long enough… something should have happened already!

Late at night, while I’m pacing the floors thinking about, well, writing this blog and making sense of the cloud of swirling crap, thats when it hits you like…your most embarrassing childhood experience, whap (Right across the face!)

We are, idiots!

Now, calm down. I’m not singling out any specific group. Uh well, except, us… Americans.

So it’s after 1am, when I recall a short volley of election ads, then, there it is.

You know the commercial I’m talking about… It’s a drug ad (the craziest category of ads I have ever seen) about the guy who’s taken the drug and… he has been very happy with the results…for, penis enlargement!

All this while Abortion remains one of the most volatile and unspoken topics of the election.

I got an idea, sort of like…the doping scandals of sports, if you have ever taken THAT drug, for enlargement…you should be disqualified from legislating anything that has to do with a woman’s reproductive rights.

Men in general!

Really, half those old codgers haven’t seen a naked woman in years unless they were waving a crumpled wad of tax dollars in their hands! And THEY want to make IT a moral issue?

Well, back to my point, I had one… didn’t I? Oh, that was it, THIS is NOT gonna be easy!

After November 4th, whoever wins…it will be, ALL HANDS ON DECK!

We have to rite a tattered and sinking ship!

That is, R-I-T-E, not –GH! (It has been going starboard all this time and we haven’t got anywhere!)

At that point we will be in the eye of the storm.

Obviously the “bailing” has begun…uh, how much is 700 billion gallons?

Never mind, I’ll save that for another time.

We have an amazing amount of work to do. But that is what, We Do! We, do stuff!

Rolling up your sleeves? We started that!

It should be very clear to all of us that we have messed up!

We can’t keep ignoring the truth.

On the world stage, as a national identity, compared to others, we’re still in diapers. And we need changing!

We are that loud, fat, overfeed kid hopped up on corn syrup who just doesn’t play well with others.

And to top it all off, we believe in a God given right to have guns, and we are pointing them at others!

“Rights,” there’s our hypocrisy in its purest form.

What rights do we really have any more? Other than, the right to ‘pursue happiness,’ at high speed in an SUV while talking on a cell phone!

It is in this pursuit, we give up the rights and freedoms that were fought for, while we ignore our only true freedoms…debt and kids!

Only in America, do we encourage everyone to live far beyond his or her means…and we continue to raise our children to do the same.

I’m not saying we can’t be a force for good, or that ‘shining city on a hill,’ what ever that means?

Let’s just be sure our city isn’t shinning cause it’s on fire!
